How to Stain Wood Furniture

  • Plastic Sheeting
  • Drop Cloths
  • Sandpaper
  • Rags
  • Gloves
  • Brush (Nylon/Polyester)
  • Paint Can Opener
  • Paint Tray
  • Paint Tray Liner
  • Stir Stick
  • Step 1

    Place plastic sheeting or a drop cloth on plants, patio surfaces and other objects to protect them from any spills, splashes and drips.

  • Step 2

    Lightly sand any rough or uneven areas and wipe the furniture clean.

  • Step 3

    With your brush, apply the stain, brushing in the same direction as the wood grain.

    TIP: Use a quality brush. Be careful of drips.

  • Step 4

    Repeat the process of applying the stain until your project is complete.

    TIP: Once you finish, check your furniture from all angles for any missed spots.
