BEHR PREMIUM® Semi-Transparent Decorative Concrete Stain No. 855
The BEHR PREMIUM No.855 Semi-Transparent Decorative Concrete Stain provides a unique decorative finish for your concrete surfaces. It can achieve the look of an acid stain finish or semi-transparent concrete stain. It is a household chemical and weather resistant finish with easy water clean-up. Easy to use with spray-on or roll-on application. It provides a natural stone-like appearance. It is available in popular custom colours and can create unique colour combinations.

** Light and pastel-coloured concrete stains should be used over pool deck surfaces. DARK COLOURS RETAIN HEAT.
Preparation† (Proper Surface Preparation is Required.)
- All surfaces must be clean, sound, dry uncoated and free of any dirt, oil and grease.
- New concrete must cure for a minimum of 30 days.
- Use a paint stripper to remove any previous coatings or sealers.
- Clean and etch surface using a product such as a muriatic acid etcher (read and follow all manufacturer's label directions) to achieve a textured profile similar to 150 grit sandpaper.
- Wipe your fingers over the clean, dry floor to check for dust or powder. Ensure there is no residue on your fingers that may have been left from the etcher. If residue is found, rinse the surface to remove residue. Allow the surface to dry completely. Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the surface. If water is quickly absorbed and the surface feels like 150 grit sandpaper, the surface is ready. If not, re-etch.
- Apply a product such as BEHR PREMIUM® No. 880 Concrete and Masonry Bonding Primer to increase adhesion of topcoat to the surface. Follow all label instructions.

Application
- DO NOT THIN.
- Intermix all cans of same product to ensure colour uniformity.
- Stir stain before and occasionally during application. Use product when air and surface temperatures are between 10-32°C.
- Do not apply in direct sunlight. Apply to dry concrete. Do not apply if rain or heavy dew is expected within 24 hours.
- Apply stain in small concrete sections approximately 1.2m x 1.2m. Work quickly and feather edges.
- Apply with a high quality pump sprayer with a fine spray setting using a circular motion. Optional: After applying with pump sprayer, for a more uniform look, immediately follow with a 6mm nap roller lightly saturated with stain.
- Spread rate will vary depending on the porosity and texture of the surface.
- NOTE: The coating will likely lighten as it dries.
- Allow first coat to dry before deciding if a second coat is necessary. Additional coats will help create a variegated look and may slightly darken the finish.
- Horizontal surfaces may be subject to premature wear. Periodic touch-ups may be necessary.

Optional Top Coat
- For added protection, use a product such as BEHR PREMIUM® No. 985 Wet-Look Sealer for a high-gloss finish or a product such as BEHR PREMIUM® No. 986 Low-Lustre Sealer for a low-gloss finish.
- Allow stain at least 24 hours to dry before top coating with a clear.
- NOTE: Do not use Wet-Look Sealer or Low-Lustre Sealer as a topcoat around pool decks or other areas subject to moisture. Follow all label instructions.

- After 30 days, clean as needed with a mild, non-abrasive liquid detergent.

- Use soap and water. Properly dispose of all soiled rags and protect unused product from freezing.
