Even though spring season makes its official arrival in March, April is when we start to notice the days grow longer, the weather begins to warm up, and nature awakens from its winter slumber. This is also a great time to reconnect with nature and enjoy the fresh air as we begin to spend more time outside and engage in outdoor activities. April’s Colour of the Month, Adirondack Blue reminds us of this beautiful season and the feeling of optimism and positivity in the air.

A stable and reassuring slate blue, Adirondack Blue echoes the calm respite of natural settings and refined sophistication.

Blues are very versatile colours and can be used in a variety of ways to paint and decorate a room, and this hue is also an accent wall favourite. In a bedroom, the wall behind the bed is a popular choice, but you can also choose a wall that has a unique architectural feature, like a fireplace or built-in shelving. Blue is also a fantastic colour option to create a casual-modern vibe in a living room. It also pairs well with a variety of other colours like yellow or green accents which can add pops of colour and warmth.

Adding a pop of blue on kitchen cabinets can add a pop of colour and freshness to a kitchen. When combining with white and light natural wood tones, it can create a bright and airy feel.

Adirondack Blue pairs well with neutral colours like white, beige, and grey. This combination creates a restful and sophisticated atmosphere in a bedroom.

Built-in shelves are a great addition to any home study. White or cream accents can provide a fresh and clean look, while gold and dark natural wood accents can add a richness and depth.
