How to Sand Cabinets

For Best Results:

Take your time sanding to achieve an even surface and remove any previous top coating. This will help the paint adhere to the surface, giving you a smooth finish.

  1. Step 1

    Grab a sanding block.

  2. Step 2

Wipe down area with a damp towel.

  3. Step 3

Using a block sander, sand in a back and forth motion, moving with the grain of the wood until you have covered the entire surface.

  4. Step 4

    Wipe off excess dust.
