How to Choose Interior Paint Supplies

To save time over the course of your project and to produce the best possible finish, it's important to use the right supplies from the very beginning of your project.

For Best Results:

Use only high quality, lint-free roller covers. Smaller nap rollers leave a smoother finish and a thinner film, which is preferred for higher sheens.

Paint must be protected from extreme temperatures in order to remain at its best.

Don't forget to wear protective clothing when you begin your paint job.

  1. Group shot of painting supplies.

    Step 1

You will need the following supplies; bucket, bucket grid, caulk and a caulking gun, cleaning rags, drop cloths, a ladder, masking paper, one roll of painter's tape for every two gallons of paint, a paint tray and liners, an extension pole, patching material, a putty knife, stir sticks, a can opener, trash bags, sandpaper, a scraper, a screwdriver, a scrub brush and sponges.

  2. 2 brushes, 2 roller covers, paint tray and painter's tape.

    Step 2

Brushes should be high quality, nylon-and-polyester, for Behr's water-based finishes.

  3. 2 roller covers and paint tray.

    Step 3

Choose three-eighth to half-inch roller covers for smooth or semi-smooth surfaces and half-inch or higher for medium to rough surfaces.
