Outside is always best, but if you are in your garage, be sure to work closely by an open door. Scuff sand the entire surface lightly. Wipe away sand dust with a tack cloth or rag. You can use painters\u2019 tape to block edges of any area you do not want stained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"327\" src=\"https:\/\/www.behr.ca\/colourfullybehr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/image-24.png\" alt=\"Two images side by side. first one showing someone stir stain in a can, second one is a person applying stain to a dresser.\" class=\"wp-image-19141\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Apply Stain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a stir stick, thoroughly stir the stain (do not shake). Use a nylon\/polyester bristle brush and apply a thin even coat of Water-Based Stain &amp; Poly. Once dry, lightly sand with fine grit sandpaper.
